For Spring Break this year, Richard and I planned a trip to go up north to explore Monterey Bay, Pinnacles National Park and Big Sur.
We’ve both traveled just about everywhere in California but have never stopped in the Big Sur area so we were very excited. We got this Airbnb studio cabin in the woods. Getting to the Airbnb took about 5 hours and included very windy roads that started out difficult getting through.
The studio cabin was settled right next to a river. At first impression, the cabin was very small, cold and a little dirty but that’s what you get in the woods! We made due and set up our belongings and it started to feel like home.
The cabin had a wood furnace that Richard loved using.. and I really mean LOVED using lol. We also had our first go at a coffee press. The coffee press is definitely different from a Keurig and it was kind of fun to use! We felt like true baristas.
The cabin site had a walking path that led to a Koi Pond as well as outdoor activities such as darts, bocce ball, horseshoes and even a zip line!
After exploring the area, we went to Monterey Bay to have dinner at the Old Fisherman’s Grotto and had really great seafood dishes with a view of the ocean from the pier.
