Dubbed the tallest building west of the Mississippi, the Wilshire Grand Center building stands at 1,100 feet in Downtown’s Financial District. Inside the center is a hotel called the InterContinental.
After brunch at Public School 213, we headed over to the Wilshire Grand Center building to check out the bar on the 70th floor. Upon entering the lobby to where the elevators are located, we caught a glimpse of a rainbow colored wall designed with those stick figure toys which was pretty cool to see up close.
We headed into the elevator going up to the 70th floor (if you ever go, you may get lightheaded by the speed of the elevator.. well, I did) and it opened up to the hotel concierge and a bar to the left side of the lobby.
The views from this level were incredible. The lobby was surrounded by large windows and even the restroom had urinals overlooking Los Angeles. Here’s a tip, if you want to go to the rooftop, the elevator on Saturdays doesn’t open until 4pm. We didn’t get a chance to head up so next time for sure!
For the building being somewhat fancy, the bar prices were reasonable and average compared to the rest of LA.
Here are some photos from there and have yourself a chance to go check it out 🙂
